What Is A Decision?
October 29th, 2014 by Xarah

Today I don’t want to sell you anything or promote anything, or even teach you anything.

Today just want to share something I posted on my Facebook wall. To show you I’m a real person ๐Ÿ™‚

Meetups Are Cool

A few years ago when I felt I needed to meet new people – and hopefully finding chocolate addicts (back then I was selling healthy chocolate) – I discovered A website for people to meet offline, in the real world.

On this website you can find all kinds of meetups with all kinds of topics and interests.

Being generally a shy woman, it took quit some courage to go and talk to other people.

I ended up going to this one Meetup group almost every Tuesday morning.

A woman I had met there called me today, eventually she asked me, why am I going there every Tuesday.

The answer is easy. For one, it’s not a decision to go or not to go every Monday evening or Tuesday morning anymore. That decision happened a long time ago. Same with my workout.

What Is A Decision?

Was it last year, last summer? When again my back seized up on me while working in the garden? The other times when it happened I could walk it off, this time I couldn’t. At one point I was so exhausted I wanted to sit down. Even though somebody held on to me, half way down, I had to get up again because it hurt so much.

I then made the decision to go back to the workout as soon as I could. And I did. Been going ever since.

At the beginning I went every day. Now I go 1-3 times a week. Decision is not the point, it’s more the time. I’ve made the decision once. I don’t have to do it every time now. It frees up time and energy, if you know what I mean.

With this weird and wet summer we’ve been having, when I don’t have another appointment, and the sun is shining I have to go to my garden.

Especially now. We changed into winter time (normal time) and around 4.20 pm today it started to get cold. Quickly I packed up, changed clothing and went back home. Brrrr….

I don’t remember as clearly the decision for the Tuesday Entrepreneuer Meetup though. I just need to be around other entrepreneurs once in a while, and once a week has worked out so far for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Even though they all are in totally different fields. I think when I mention or even talk about internet marketing, blogging, social media most probably they don’t understand half of what I’m saying but too polite to say something.

No, I’m kidding. We’ve had some really awesome discussions about social media and Facebook the other week.

Once in a while I say this: you should be blogging. If not every day but at least 1-2 a week.

Quit a while ago I realized that this crowd (and it changes all the time, new folks are coming, checking the group out, some come back and some won’t) is not my target market. They are not interested in earning money online, in passive income (another term they don’t really grasp yet), in marketing online.

In fact, the other week, after the bigger discussion and the group broke up into smaller groups a guy from the other side of the group came over to me and asked me, what is passive income?

What Is Passive Income?

passive incomeShort answer: You do something right once and get paid over and over again.

For instance, you write a book and every time it gets sold you get a little bit of money. It took some effort to write the book, now it needs some marketing so people learn about it, take a look and hopefully buy.

What if there is no book inside of you, or a great song… how about helping somebody else who has created a product and promote it for them, in exchange you get a commission. That’s not passive yet. But you get the idea.

Now, imagine you have somebody who has created a product, put it into a system that does most of the selling, adds a monthly product-payment to it et voila! Here you have passive income. And you don’t even have to create a product, you don’t have to write a book.

Just drive traffic to the video.

What’s Your Target market?

Anyway. This crowd is not my target market.

They have other goals than financial freedom, time freedom, being able to “work” where ever they want. Sometimes I think even though they (and not only this crowd, others I talk to on Facebook or Skype) have their own business, are self-employed, call themselves entrepreneurs, some of them still have the mindset of an employee/slave.

Know what I mean?

And I also realized that not everybody, neither in that meetup group, nor on facebook, nor on Skype, not everybody is my target market. Maybe not even you who is reading this article.

Not everybody wants financial freedom is ready to work for it.

Not everybody wants time freedom is ready to work for it.

Not everybody puts in the time (and money) to learn how to do it.

Some people are still in their employee mindset. Have to be told what to do. And expect to get paid every month just for showing up. I guess that’s ok. For them. Not for me.

Ok, I think I’m done ranting lol

My cat wants to get fed.

It’s dark out. Soon I get fed, too ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you enjoyed my little description about my favorite Meetup group. I didn’t plan to go off like this, but then I figured, what the heck, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Send me a message on Facebook and if we are not friends yet, send a friend request along. Let me know what kind of Meetup group you belong to, or will join. Maybe you didn’t even know about this website before. it is. Have fun!
