About Teeth and Tongues
Oct 16th, 2009 by Xarah

tongue-tattooSo, I finally got to eat my Zopf last Sunday. On Tuesday I had to go back to Dentist Two, the one who pulled my wisdom tooth. We were a bit early and still had to wait. And then I couldn’t wait any longer. Nature called. Of course right when I disappeared behind the door, they came to get me. Since I was not there, the other guy also waiting - why do they order two people at the same time to come in? - got to go, and I had to wait again.

As you maybe know I have a dentist-phobia. I don’t know if I would or could have stayed if my girlfriend hadn’t been with me.

Finally it was my turn. He cut the thread off my tongue and told me a few seconds later it was all done. Ok, I stumble out again. That went faster than anticipated.

Girlfriend invited me to the Café opposite “Sprüngli” and I enjoyed a large cup of very hot very dark hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream. YUMMY!!

Anyways, a couple of hours after I was home, I got a call from the assistant: Dentist Two had forgotten to pull the plug out of the whole! How should I have known there was something in that hole? They never told me! That’s what I was feeling when I finally was able to move my tongue around. When did they put that in?

Then she continues telling me I could pull it out myself! You don’t say stuff like that to someone who is scared to death about dentist stuff! I told her I would not do that but I had an appointment with Dentist One on Friday. Fine, he can take it out then!

Well, I just got home a couple of hours ago and still tremble. Dentist One cleaned my teeth with Ultra Sound. While that sounds not very painful, it was - for me. But we agreed on a sign with my hand and he would stop. I used that sign several times, just to give me breather. And yes, first thing he pulled the plug. I don’t know if it always hurts a little or has it been in a bit too long and already started to become part of me?

At least Dentist One told me the structure of my teeth is very good and while some of the plombs will need to come out eventually there is no need for immediate or urgent action. We will simply have to watch them and go at least once per year for the teeth cleaning and to check on them.

One of the teeth that had root works (?) a few years ago seems to be inflammatory. I figure I just eat more of the healthy chocolate and let my body deal and heal.

While I am writing these words, that one tooth starts to hurt a bit. Oh, well, might be because of the Ultrasound, it might still be shaking from it :-) *unwrappingapieceofhealthychocolate*

Cu later!

I’m in Pain
Oct 3rd, 2009 by Xarah

On Tuesday I went to the dentist which I fear like nothing else but I had to go. I had broken off part of the wisdom tooth. So, there I was, loaded with rescue remedy. Waiting. Hopeing he  got the flue and I can go back home.

No luck. He gives me a couple of pain shots and recommends to remove the nipple on the left side of my tongue. Since I’m paralyzed he takes my non-answer as a yes. Damn, I hate it, I can tell you that. Because even though it’s Saturday now, my tongue still hurts.

I needed twice more pain shots because the pulling of the tooth still hurt and suddenly it was over. He let me leave without any instructions. I would think that I’m not supposed to do this or that?

I broke down in my girl friends arms and cried. Right there in the waiting room where other people were waiting. Probably not a great sight in a dentists waiting room. I probably would run out if I was waiting and someone coming out crying.

After I calmed down we left. Still no instructions other than to come back to remove the stitch on my tongue in two weeks. Downstairs I broke down again.

I could not speak well, it hurts to swollow. But it got better every day a little. Even if I cannot eat solid food, I enjoy the soups. But I cannot wait to eat my chocs again. Especially the new ones. The XoBiotics, they are larger and too big for me right now.

zopfYesterday I thought it was getting better and was planing a brunch with Zopf and Marmelade and the cheeses we bought at the fair and other yummy things we also bought at the fair. I get hungry just thinking of it. But as life has it, we will have to post pone it.

Oh, yes, the fair. Lots of interesting and yummy things to taste - but not for me ;-(

I got an email Friday afternoon telling me that the MySQL 4 database is going to be shut down (they will only support MySQL5) and this time I went to my cPanels to check it out. And was surprised to find several of them.

Three of them really really very important! If I would lose them that would be a huge catastrophe. So I called  support to get help but I didn’t understand the guy. He was talking tech gibberish.

I’m gonna call again on Monday, hoping to reach someone else :-)

Anyways, my girl friend called and I noticed that my speech was bad again, way bader than in the morning and I also noticed that my tongue hurt more.

I started to watch my mouth a bit closer and found out that I tend to suck my tongue through my teeth when I concentrate. Bad thing because right behind the wound it looks like a new nipple is starting to be building and darn that hurts. Also on the tongue I seem to have little cuts that burn. So I guess it’ll be more soup. Hope I at least lose some pounds!

And tomorrow is my mom’s birthday. She invited all her kids to a late brunch. They’ll be eating yummy things, probably Zopf and I’ll be eating pumpkin soup, left overs from tonights dinner.

*boohoo*
