Facebook Login Emails
Nov 5th, 2009 by Xarah

I just got a couple of Emails to different email accounts with the subject „Facebook Update Tool“. I think it’s a fake! Because none of those email addresses I used for my facebook accounts. So I thought I should quickly write a post about this. To warn my friends.

I couldn’t find anything about this on the Facebook homepage or way to contact them. Just be warned.

Tip which goes for anything (online banking, paypal and so on) don’t’ trust such emails! Never use their link to sign in. Type the domain into the address bar to be on the save side. It also helps to have different email addresses.

shuffle2I got one asking me to let them know if I’m still alive so they could send me the money … to 3 or 4 different email accounts!!!

Clicking around I found the Facebook fan page and after I wrote my little warning I find this about in the middle of the page:

Watch out for two new viruses that are spreading across the web. They involve emails made to look like they are from Facebook telling you to take some action on your account. Remember that we will never send you a new password as an attachment. Stay informed on how to keep your account secure by becoming a fan of the Facebook Security Page.

Have a sweet day with or without facebook.
