Last Friday me and 3 Fearless women over 50 went to the movies. In the afternoon 🙂

We went to see FROZEN.

I can totally recommend it to young and old.

Just the 4 of us where in the movie theater and kind of had a private show. That’s what you get
when you can go to the movies in the afternoon when everybody else is at the office :-))

In the break we chatted about how special Disney movies are. And that’s where the picture above was shot.

Frozen only for kids?

Even if it’s a kid’s movie still grown-ups can get something out of it.

Yes, it could just be entertainment, just a diversion for a couple of hours from sorrows. Or You can really get
something out of it.

For instance, my Facebook friend Katherine Fugate (a writer for the Xena TV show) posted this on her wall:

Is it Disney Blasphemy to see Elsa’s storyline from Frozen as a coming out storyline? Something she is born with,
has to keep hidden, until finally, in adulthood, she let’s it go – breaks free and is proud of who she is?

We found the song “let it go” powerful too. On the way back into the city one of the women said something about fear.
And I told her to let it go, to let her fear go because it freezes your heart. Let it go and let love heal everything
(or something in this sense).

Here are the lyrics to “Let It Go”

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight,
not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation and it looks like I’m the queen.
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside.
Couldn’t keep it in, Heaven knows I tried.
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see.
Be the good girl you always have to be.
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know.
Well, now they know!
Let it go, let it go!
Can’t hold it back anymore.
Let it go, let it go!
Turn away and slam the door.
I don’t care what they’re going to say.
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway.
It’s funny how some distance,
makes everything seem small.
And the fears that once controlled me,
can’t get to me at all
It’s time to see what I can do,
to test the limits and break through.
No right, no wrong, no rules for me.
I’m free!
Let it go, let it go.
I am one with the wind and sky.
Let it go, let it go.
You’ll never see me cry.
Here I stand, and here I’ll stay.
Let the storm rage on.
My power flurries through the air into the ground.
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back; the past is in the past!
Let it go, let it go.
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn.
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand, in the light of day.
Let the storm rage on!
The cold never bothered me anyway.

Yes, I think it could be a coming-out story/song.

The co-songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez said: “Who doesn’t have some kind of shame or secret that holds them back?”
Point is, just about anyone can relate in some way.

Our foursome of fearless women over 50 😉 decided every new member has to watch this movie because we started to
adapt some frozen language.

Oh, and Olaf! What a wonderful comic element. He’s just lovely!

Go watch it and if you can in 3D! I’ll certainly get the DVD when it’s available.

If you have seen it, would you like to share what you got out of the movie or how you liked it?

Let it go!
