This is no fun

It’s no Fun

tongue-tattoo

I don’t much mind writing, I actually like it and I hope eventually I can go back to my fanfiction writing and who knows maybe that’ll evolve into a novel and a real book.

But writing and spinning articles, all that SEO stuff, you know going through your articles and try to add the h1, h2, h3 tag and add enough keywords, even figure out which keyword to use in said article I don’t find much fun.

And then syndicate, and try to drive traffic to it. No, no fun. Some of it is boring. Some of it is simply grueling work.

I found myself putting it of, letting myself getting distracted. And not doing what I was supposed to be doing - working

But I never dared to say that I was not having fun anymore

Until David Wood said in one of his wonderful chaotic videos that all the work involved

  • writing articles
  • spinning
  • posting
  • syndicating
  • tweeting
  • facebooking
  • and so on

is not much fun. But it has to be done in order to eventually find freedom.

It dawned on me

It dawned on me, I don’t have to have fun doing it, I just have to look at it as normal work. And it’s work that eventually can be outsourced.

Now, there’s a fun idea…

I remembered those many years ago when I worked as secretary and clerk in offices doing boring work. Oh, at the beginning it was fun and exciting, there was so much to learn but because I learn very fast, usually after a rather short time, it became normal boring daily tasks. And I needed to leave and find a new job. Eventually I left the working field and stayed, “worked” from home.

I am realizing just now that I have to look at what ever I have to do to reach my goals and my freedom is work.

The fun diffference

The diffference to a job and the work that needs to be done in Empower Network is:

  • it’s my decision
  • it’s my choice
  • some or maybe all of the work can be outsourced
  • I can sleep in and work on rainy days

With this new mind set I gather it will be easier, even if still not much fun - but I can do something more fun after the 3 hours of writing, spinning, posting. For instance digg out of of my stories and start writing on it again. Now, that sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

Let’s bring back some fun into our working lives!

What ever your job is I hope this little - fun - article will help you, too. Let me know what you think… write a (fun) comment…

I don’t want to be a guru
Feb 27th, 2012 by Xarah

guruDo I Want To Be A Guru?

Not really! I don’t mind getting paid like a guru though and with the 100% commission system of Empower Network eventually I will get paid like a guru.

Why don’t I want to be a guru?

For one thing, the word got kind “dirty” with all those people out in the ‘Net claiming to be gurus, claiming to teach us everything they know if we buy their (expensive) stuff and often we do buy them. Haven’t you? I don’t wanna count how much money I have put into those programs, ebooks, ecourses, membership sites and what not.

We read everything, devour everything, we do what they tell us to do and nothing comes out of it. Something is missing. I’m not a guru myself yet or making on the sales pages claimed income.

Become an Expert not a Guru

In some cases, I was supposed to become an expert. Especially in Attraction Marketing we desperately seeking folks are “taught” to become an expert. And I kept asking myself: an expert in what??? I’m not an expert in anything. Oh, I know some things. About Baseball, about Handball, about cats, about wordpress, about Xena. But I don’t come near to being expert in any of these fields. There are lots of people out there who know way more than I ever will.

Create Info Products

The next thing I was “taught”: create info products. Again, about what? I need and want to earn money now (like they explain on the sales letters), i don’t have the time to research for 6 to 12 months on a chosen topic. Then create an info product about it, probably another 3-6 months, with sales letters, website and promoting it. I have no clue how others are doing it.

I felt I was like hitting one wall after the other

Until I found Empower Network. Or better a Skype friend told me about it. And was not offended when I told her this was not working. 100% commission is ridiculous.

But I have to admit I had not even looked at it, I thought it was something else. But after I watched Dave Wood in one of his 2-hour videos, showing sunsets, I could not sleep the next night and decided to go in for the basic level. You know, to check things out. I figured I had paid for foolproof programs 10 times more and thought $25 was ok to do a closer research.

And what I found was so different from anything else I’ver ever seen, tried, bought, or heard before.

David Wood often says we don’t have to brand ourselves, we don’t have to be experts and we do not have create info products. We can, but we don’t have to. All we have to do at the beginning is blogging and telling and thus evenutally we will earn money - and I have. Not as much as I had thought i would but more than i had in any other business i was involved before.

Keep on learning

After three months into this empower adventure I am learning that after the initial blogging (getting into a habit doing it) it’s important to also start adding some learning time to the daily tasks.

Some people buy all products at once and some people upgrade one by one. I got the Inner Circle after one or two days. I was ready for the audios. And I didn’t want to miss out on commissions ;-) because I started talking about it. Couldn’t help it LOL

I love listening to some audio while i clean the house on Saturday mornings. If need be i simply stop my ipod and take notes and keep on cleaning.

One week later I also got the Costa Rica Intensive. For two reasons: i didn’t want to miss out on commissions and I wanted to know what the others where talking about. I had a couple of sick days when I inhaled all that content. It’s about time i’ll put them back on my training schedule.

So, here I am, blogging, and learning. About traffic and marketing. About planing my day around my day job and Empower Network.

Maybe evenutally I become a blogging guru? LOL

Do you want to be paid like the gurus? Check this video out. Because this video will explain more about what I was brabling about in this article.

A Plan vs a Map
Feb 20th, 2012 by Xarah

What’s better: A Plan - A Map

The video about the new google map inspired me to write about what maps or plans mean to me.

Seriously. Everybody needs a plan if they want to go anywhere. Unless of course you just want to wander around or go for a walk, but you still need to have a plan to find your way back home. Even following the stars, the moon or the sun is kind of a map.

beach-chairThough I do love to just walk about when I’m on a Maldivian island - without much of a plan. I like to chose small round ones. I can simply just walk around it, look at the palm trees, count the coconuts, watch the waves and let my brain wander around, too. Eventually I end up at my beach chair.

Traveling without a plan

Without a plan or a map you end up anywhere but usually not where you wanted to go.

When I travelled through Canada, the only plan we had was “going west”. We didn’t have a plan and thus arrived in Vancouver almost a week too early.

Because we didn’t really have a plan: how long will it take us to go from town A to town B? Is there anything interesting on the way that’s worth a trip to the north or south? We actually did miss some interesting places. Often we thought we didn’t have the time to drive 3 hours into another direction than west. I learned even if you have 3 weeks, it’s a good idea to have at least a simple plan, and do some research.

A plan is not a map

Not only when traveling you need to have a plan or a map.

A map can show you where you are right now, where you want to go and what’s around you that might need your attention eventually.

The plan shows you where you want to go. Gives you a time frame. And helps to stay focused.

Getting lost

Should you still get distracted and you find you chased a shiny nickel, your map will show you where you are now and how to find your way back home and your plan will put you on track again.

I think sometimes it’s ok to chase a shiny nickel, as long as you don’t forget to bring your map along. Unfortunately I see too many people who must have forgotten to bring their map or never gotten one and keep chasing one shiny object after the other.

Guess what.

They get lost. Will have a hard time to find back home. Maybe never will. They will wander the earth for ever. Do you know anybody like that?

Don’t you want to help them?

Once in a while (more often when I was younger LOL) I meet someone who is lost. And I want to help them to find their way back home. And it’s so frustrating because they won’t even take a look at the map. Of course, now I know it’s my map, it’s not much use to them.

So, now I just strole along with them (keeping my map firmly to myself and my plan in mind) and see if I can help them choose a direction when they come to a crossing. Sometimes they chose to change their direction and strole with me, follow my map until they can draw up their own.

Enough of the anology?

If you feel lost with all the business opportunities being thrown at you, this is my offer to you:

Get yourself an Empower Blog (like this one) through one of the banners on this site.

You will not only get the 8 fast start videos to help you draw your own map, you will get access to a private membership site with training about many topics, like blogging, keyword research and much more.

You will also get a 15 minute private coaching lesson with me.

I believe such a blog will help you stay on your track because it will like a harbor for you where you can come back any time. Like one hub for your different interests.

A place to go back every day. Training that’ll help you with anything you are involved and want to stay involved.

Watch the presentation or just get your blogging system from here. It’s only $25/mo, well worth a ready-set up monetized blog on an authority website. Anyway. Thanks for reading and…

Stay on track with a map or a plan, or both.

That’s kinda new
Dec 14th, 2011 by Xarah

I am used to getting spam to old posts here on this blog. But almost a day after I posted this post (click for a new window) I started getting spam to it. That’s new. It was a new post and suddenly I don’t get any more spam on other posts. Very funny. I guess Google has found me again.

A few weeks ago someone in the blogging support Skype room shared a website where you could check your website and see how often Google visits you. This blog has not been visited in over 90 days! And I guess the Empower Network posts got Google’s attention again, because I’m getting spam.

So, getting spam means your posts and articles are indexed, at least by google, hopefully by other search engines too. That’s a good thing, right? But then, I’d rather get nice, meaningful, honest comments than 10-20 stupid spam comments. Even nicer it would be to get “leads”, people who are really interested in what I’m doing ;-)

What if I could show you?

What if I could show you how to generate leads? How to sell your stuff? How to set up a system where you own your own leads instead of the company (or system you use)?

With one hour per day, you could earn - eventually - $5000 per month.

Wouldn’t you rather learn to have your own system, to keep your own leads than going pounding on your relatives, making warm and cold calls (I hate doing that), posting your flyers everywhere and in every mailbox?

Then click here. You have nothing to lose.

I’ll see you on the path to success!

Why Empower Network Rocks
Dec 3rd, 2011 by Xarah

big-rockEmpower Network Rocks

For once I’m in a team with lots of leaders. They’re active in a facebook group and answer questions and give tips and uplift everybody during those daring times while the website is down and we cannot do much - other than learn.

They even got a training site already set up and plan do to a 100 day blog challenge. That sounds like fun, hu?

It rocks because the owners David Sharpe and David Woods go out of their way to solve any issues.

And Empower Network itself rocks because they pay 100% commission. It’s been a little over a week now that I got involved in this company and I’ve always gotten lots of “offers” to join other people’s business. When i drill down, ask questions (how much is the commission, where does the money come from - often it seems out of thin air, what’s the product) they all turn out to be cycle programs, no matter how they call it. You need to constantly bring in people, fill a cycle and “earn” like $100 and bring in even more people in order to earn another $100. Duh!

Empower Network rocks

because every person I or someone else brings into Empower Network is an asset. And if we bring in 5 new people every month our income doubles every month. And every time someone might prevent foreclosure, end up pay off any debts or be able to ….. (fill in the blanks).

If i bring in 5 new people every month into those cycling programs my income stays the same - if those programs last several months. Besides they just don’t feel legit. But maybe I’m wrong.

Here, in Empower Network, your income just keeps on growing.

Anyway, I think David S., David W., my sponsor, my upline and all the Empower Networkers rock.

Rock on!
